Terrifying lows, Dizzying Highs and Creamy Middles
The USA won their group and ...unfortunately, they had to play the last African team, Ghana. Ghana was well represented and from this fan's opinion played the better match. Thus the better team won. It is heart wrenching to see your team get knocked out of the world cup in person. As you walk out amongst the vuvuzelas and the waving flags of the opposition, it is hard not to notice your compatriots sad long faces. As one kind Brit put it on the way home,"You'll get another chance in four years."

Write the Future
This video came into my attention last week. Excellently filmed, directed and sponsored (go Nike!) Reactions from our Friday dinner party ranged from: That makes me wanna work out - I should watch that first thing in the morning; to I like Rooney's beard. Check it out and keep your eyes open for non-soccer celebs. Note: If you watched the Champions League Final you saw it just prior to kick off.

Bill Clinton wants the world to look like soccer.
Check out former President Bill Clinton representing the USA bid committee in it's efforts to bring the World Cup back to the USA. His chill demeanor is classic and he makes some great points.

World Cup fever is upon many around the world including ME. Unlike most I have the chance of a lifetime to experience the "madness" of international hooliganism in person this summer in South Africa. While I will not be participating in any beatings (other than on the soccer field; Go USA!) I will be documenting my time on this meager blog. Check back often for update on my travel tips and slips.
